Business Development Manager for Private Sector

This individual will help drive the creation of private-sector relationships (e.g., telematics, social networks, utilities, etc.) that enhance the live detection and validation of public-safety incidents. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can synthesize complex concepts into easy-to-understand solutions. The Business Development Manager will identify, engage, negotiate and contract with unique live-data sources that help detect emergency events faster than previously possible. Success is ownership of several private-sector verticals.


  • Support business development needs for Banjo’s private-sector initiatives
  • Identify and establish a list of target partners to accelerate strategic goals
  • Craft and execute partner opportunity plans
  • Cultivate relationships with counterparts in appropriate books of business
  • Represent Banjo in external meetings
  • Define and drive deal terms with partners, including data licensing agreements, statements of work, and other technology transactions
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, or other venues to demonstrate the product and answer questions from potential partners
  • Cross-functional collaboration with internal teams (e.g., project management, legal, engineering, public-sector program managers, etc.)


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of work experience in partnership-related roles (e.g., account management)
  • Collaboration and relationship-building experience developing working partnerships
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with the ability to influence others internally and externally
  • Sound business judgment and strong analytical thinking
  • Displaying highest personal integrity and ethics
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25% of the time
