DevOps in Network Engineering

Banjo is looking for a DevOps in Network Engineering to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, design, and implement secure virtual private networking solutions between hybrid networks of on-premise, colocation, and cloud-hosted data centers
  • Script configurations with Ansible, and automate monitoring, logging, and alerting of network connectivity, system monitoring, and ensure the integrity and availability of all server & network resources
  • Install and maintain rack-mounted compute units, storage servers, & ethernet networks
  • Configure hardware and the operating systems, ensure applications are running in accordance with the best operational protocols & standards
  • Perform maintenance & security upgrades of networks, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems
  • Take part in the 24x7 on-call rotation with other DevOps team members
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization
  • Improve, automate, and maintain system standards for installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance procedures
  • Research, identify and recommend technologies that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale
  • Provides technical system administrative support for the company
  • Investigate and troubleshoot hardware, networks, systems, and service issues
  • Monitor and maintenance of data center environments in a team-based rotation & escalation

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science/IT related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Network or SysAdmin position, and proficient in the Linux environment
  • Experience in DevOps position
  • Proficient in scripting automation tasks in Python, Bash, or other languages
  • Knowledge of at least one configuration framework in Ansible, Salt, Chef, etc.
  • Experience with IPSec tunnel deployment (and ability to dive deep & triage the issues is a plus)
  • Excellent knowledge of system security, e.g., intrusion detection systems
  • Great knowledge of network infrastructure, topologies, protocols, and services security
  • Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills - and with the ability to communicate calmly during a crisis
  • Experience with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or GCE is a plus
  • Working knowledge of team collaboration software, database administration, and setting up remote control of machines
  • Strong communication skills, ability to adapt to and understand complex technical requirements
